The reviews for the Whynter ARC-14S Portable Air Conditioner are mostly positive. 15 out of 24 reviewers gave it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. All reviewers agreed that the unit was attractive with several describing it as robotic looking, the silver and black finish is certainly different to most portable air conditioning machines.

The reviews were mixed concerning the performance and air cooling capability of this model. Most reviewers were happy with their purchase and its cooling ability. One reviewer stated that it was the coolest portable air conditioner that he had ever used. Another said that this unit took no time at all to cool a room which was at 98-100 degrees and that the room was approximately 960 cubic feet. However not all buyers were so happy, saying that their rooms were not sufficiently cooled.

Several reviewers commented on the noise of this machine when set at the maximum setting. Most found it fairly easy to get used to the noise, although some found it annoying. However, one said that it was surprisingly quiet for a portable unit. A couple of people also complained that the LED was rather bright, especially at night.

The A/C seems to be easy to set up although some people had difficulty attaching the hoses to their windows. If you have previously had a window air conditioner, then putting the hot air vent where the window A/C previously was seems to have been a very straightforward solution for at least one buyer.

This portable air conditioner is quite heavy at around 70 pounds and might require two people to carry it upstairs. It was noted that it moved around very easily on its castors, even on carpeted areas.
